1989 Playoff Victory

Ranger players celebrate the games only score during the 1989 state playoff game.

The Rangers first playoff appearance in the school's history came following an excellent 9-1 regular season record in 1989. At that time, there were fewer divisions than there are now and only the top four teams in each region qualified, as as opposed to the top eight currently. They won their first game 2-0 over highly rated Urbana. It is the lowest scoring playoff game in Ohio high school football history. The Rangers lost the following week to Lima Bath in a hard fought game.

11:22:12 by Chuck \| Views: 59 \| Comments: 0 On Wednesday, July 14th the football team will be holding a competition night under the lights at the high school stadium for the Varsity (grades 10-12). At the last competition night therewere about 350 people in attendance which our kids really enjoyed. It would be great to see more people out this Wednesday to support the Rangers. There will be music and the concessions will be open. Canned goods will be collected for the Mid-Ohio food bank. So come on! Get behind your team...and as always GO RANGERS!!

Here is a video submitted by Tod Wiler from the 1989 game vs Amanda Clearcreek. This was th only score of the game. The Rangers went on to win the league, and qualify for the state playoffs.
